As United Way of Midland County wraps up Week 6 of its annual campaign, the community continues to rally together with determination and heart. To date, pledges total $2,934,880, representing 67% of the $4.4 million goal.

Across the county, businesses, nonprofits, and individuals are finding creative ways to get involved – each contribution bringing the community one step closer to a stronger, more resilient Midland.

New this year, Dow has offered United Way of Midland County a community campaign match valued at up to $100,000 to encourage more businesses to join in. New and returning employee campaigns and corporate gifts, as well as any campaign that increases by 25% will receive a $1:$1 match – doubling their impact.

Local companies continue to lead the way in generosity this season. All Season’s Heating and Cooling, Snow Machines, and Paper Moon each increased their corporate contributions, qualifying for the Dow Community Campaign Match, amplifying their impact even further.

Midland Ford and Crawford Insurance contributed a corporate gift, demonstrating their commitment to our community. Horizon Bank and Wildfire Credit Union also supported the campaign through employee contributions and corporate gifts.

The Great Lakes Loons will kick off their campaign later this month, with a United Way staffer joining their team meeting to share the impact their support will make. They also showed their support by donating their time. Their marketing team, led by Matt DeVries, Young Leaders United Executive Council member, lent their expertise to capture Young Leaders in an inspiring video.

Other workplaces, including Arbury Insurance, Andrews Hooper Pavlik, AMPM, and Dow Credit Union, are kicking off their campaigns soon, while Quick Reliable Printing is lending its support by donating printing of campaign materials that help share the stories of our neighbors.

Members First Credit Union launches their campaign next week, with a generous dollar-for-dollar corporate match to help their employees’ contributions go further in the communities they serve.

In addition to workplace and corporate giving, individuals and retirees are making a significant impact, contributing nearly $450,000 so far – with more gifts arriving daily. Their generosity reflects the community’s deep-rooted culture of caring.

United Way honors donors at every level of giving. The Tocqueville Society recognizes those contributing $10,000 or more annually, while the Leadership Circle celebrates gifts of $1,000 or more, and the Young Leadership Circle highlights donors in their 20s and 30s who give $500 or more.

“Members of our Tocqueville Society and Leadership Circle inspire us all,” shared Holly Miller, President and CEO of United Way of Midland County. “Their generosity embodies a commitment to ensuring everyone in our community has the opportunity to thrive. They are providing hope – and creating change.”

In addition to the campaign season, United Way also brings our community together to learn about the issues our neighbors face. Next month, they are hosting the United for ALICE Summit on November 13th at The H and all are invited to join. The summit will bring together non-profits, businesses, foundations and the community for a regional event to share the 2025 ALICE Report, explore innovative solutions for employers, and provide calls to action to drive local and statewide impact for our ALICE neighbors. The 2025 United Way Campaign continues through the fall, and everyone is invited to be part of the change. Learn more about community needs, read local impact stories, or make a donation at unitedwaymidland.org.

Together, we can build a community where everyone thrives.
