When our neighbors face challenges, this community shows up. It’s one of the things I value most about Midland County: our instinct to care for one another and take action when it matters most.

As we near the final stretch of our 2025 Community Campaign, I’m inspired by the generosity we’ve seen across workplaces, families, organizations and individuals. Together, you’ve helped us reach $4,222,297, or 96% of our $4.4 million goal. This remarkable progress reflects your belief in a stronger, more connected community.

But we’re not finished yet. To ensure essential services remain available for those who rely on them, we need everyone who can to join us. There’s still time to make a meaningful difference.

Every day, United Way and our partner agencies walk alongside people facing real challenges. Seniors who can’t drive but need healthy meals delivered to their door. Families on the brink of eviction after an unexpected setback. Single parents who want to work, yet struggle to afford safe, reliable childcare.

These aren’t distant problems; they’re the realities for thousands of hard-working households right here at home. And any one of us could find ourselves needing help at some point in our lives.

Your generosity fuels the programs that form our community’s safety net. And even small gifts create big impact:

  • $1/week provides over 200 lbs. of nutritious food for a struggling family.
  • $5/week ensures five cancer patients can travel for specialized care.
  • $10/week offers hands-on job training for two individuals.
  • $20/week builds and installs a ramp, making a home safe and accessible.
  • $30/week provides 15 nights of shelter and counseling for a survivor and their child.
  • $50/week gives eight students a reading tutor scholarship.

This is what your giving makes possible – hope, stability and opportunity.
