As United Way of Midland County wraps up week eleven of its annual campaign, the community continues to rally with inspiring generosity. To date, pledges total $4,083,160, representing 93% of the $4.4 million goal.
Every day in Midland County, families face challenges – putting food on the table, helping children keep up in school, accessing stable housing, finding safe and affordable childcare, and securing employment. United Way emphasizes that while these stories are familiar, they are not unchangeable. Collective action can help rewrite them.
“Each act of generosity, no matter the size, brings hope to our community,” shared Holly Miller, President & CEO of United Way of Midland County. “Your engagement fuels life-changing programs that thousands of our neighbors rely on. Together, we can make sure these resources remain strong.”
Across Midland County, businesses and organizations continue to step forward in meaningful ways.
Fisher Companies demonstrated extraordinary commitment this year, increasing their campaign by $20,000. This growth qualified them for the Dow Community Match, unlocking an additional $20,000, amplifying the impact of their generosity. Their support reflects a deep dedication to helping neighbors build stability and opportunity.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support and leadership of J.W. and Yvonne Fisher,” shared Andrea Plouff, Relationship Manager at United Way of Midland County. “Beyond their generous financial contributions, they have connected us with other community-minded organizations, helping expand engagement in our campaign. Their advocacy is invaluable – thanks to their efforts, new partners are joining in, and long-time supporters are giving even more to help our neighbors thrive.”
Three Rivers Corporation wrapped up their Campaign, coming in just over $54,000. They raised $39,000 in employee pledging and gave a generous corporate gift of $15,000. New this year, they offered weekly incentive drawings for employees who are new donors and for those who increased their pledge from last year. These drawings included a 70in TV, Pellet Grill, and patio furniture.
Wealth Enhancement Group, a longtime supporter and valued member of United Way’s Board of Directors, once again delivered an impressive campaign. Their team raised over $32,000, demonstrating their continued belief in investing in the well-being of our community.
Members First Credit Union wrapped up their campaign last week, offering a generous corporate match to help employee donations go further. Whether it’s volunteering, sponsoring United Way events or attending Lunch and Learns, their team shows up in a big way to support the community throughout the entire year.
In addition to employee pledging, team members at MyMichigan Health raised dollars by participating in many special events, including basket raffles and parking space auctions. Employee groups also did fun things to raise funds, including bake sales, football squares, T-shirt sales, lunch and soup cookoffs, penny/coin wars, and many more! In total, they raised over $230,000 to support our local community.
Several additional organizations wrapped up strong campaigns this week. State Farm Insurance Scott MacGregor, Greater Michigan Construction Academy, and the Central Michigan Central Labor Council each completed their employee drives, contributing impactful support that will help sustain essential community services across the region. Looking ahead, Ayre Rhinehart and Benjamin F. Edwards are preparing to launch their campaigns on December 1.
Alloy Construction and Groundbreakers are both stepping in as first-time participants, and because they are new campaigns, every dollar they raise will qualify for the community match, doubling their contributions and extending even greater support to local families.
“To everyone who has given so far, thank you,” said Miller. “But we’re not across the finish line yet. We need our community to stand with us in these last crucial weeks.”
United Way supports 25 partner agencies providing 55 programs across Youth Opportunity, Financial Stability, Healthy Communities and Community Resiliency. Every gift ensures these programs remain strong and accessible to families, friends, coworkers and neighbors when they need them most.
“We’ve set a goal of $4.4 million to meet the needs of our region,” added Cathleen Louisignau, Director of Engagement. “We’re deeply grateful for the generosity shown so far. Now, we’re inviting those who haven’t yet engaged – or who may be able to increase their support – to join us. Every gift truly matters.”
