Jill Bolte Taylor’s Stroke of Insight, Tuesday, May 27th, 11:45am – 1:00pm, Senior Services Building, 4700 Dublin Ave.
Jill Bolte Taylor got a research opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: She had a massive stroke, and watched as her brain functions — motion, speech, self-awareness — shut down one by one. An astonishing story. Brain researcher Jill Bolte Taylor studied her own stroke as it happened and has become a powerful voice for brain recovery.
Join educator Tom Lowrey on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month during lunch to watch a TED talk (typically 10-20 minutes each) and participate in lively discussion about the ideas presented. Call ahead to reserve your spot and register for lunch at 633-3700. Aim to arrive by 11:30am in Trailside and after your table is called, take your lunch into Room 160. Lunches are by donation to those over 60 or $5 for those under 60.
