The Legacy of the CCC in Michigan, Friday, July 11th, 11:45am – 1:00pm, Senior Services Building, 4700 Dublin Ave, Midland.
The Civilian Conversation Corps worked in the outdoors and did much to improve and create national parks and state and local parks, plant forests, fight wildfires, restore fish and wildlife habitats, and much more. In Michigan, more than 102,000 ‘CCC Boys’ living in 125 camps throughout Michigan, replanted our state’s forests, created Isle Royale National Park and numerous state parks, manned fire towers and built Seney National Wildlife Refuge. Presented by Rob Burg of North Country History.
