On December 13th of this year, Nancy will have been gone exactly 20 years. Nancy LaMott, a native Midlander and New York’s “Best Cabaret Singer,” according to New York Magazine, passed away at the age of 43. Nancy made several critically acclaimed recordings, along with television appearances on Good Morning America, Live With Regis and Kathie Lee, Today and The Charles Grodin Show. She also sang for President & Mrs. Clinton at the White House. Many people in Midland still have fond memories of Nancy, so part of the Lunchtime Learners program, some of Nancy’s friends and family will participate in a salute to one of our town’s most cherished treasures. We will listen to her music, view some photos of her life in Midland and beyond, watch some videos of Nancy’s performances, and listen as people share their memories of this wonderful person.
