AARP CarFit Evaluation, Wednesday, June 18th, 9:30am – 11:00am & 1:00pm – 3:00pm, By Appointment at Greendale Senior Center, 4011 Isabella Rd.
As we age, changes in our vision, hearing, mobility and medications may impact our ease of driving. AARP is offering a CarFit Evaluation to seniors age 60 and over that provides a 12 point assessment of how well your car is adjusted to meet your driving needs. Senior Services will be hosting the event at the Greendale Center.
The CarFit assessment includes vision over the steering wheel, distance from the air bags and pedals, seat and seat belt adjustments, mirror adjustments and much more. The assessment takes about 20 minutes and is provided by SVSU Occupational Therapy students under the direct supervision of an on-site Occupational Therapist who will review the results of the evaluation with you and make recommendations. There is no charge for this assessment and the results are confidential and shared only with you. You need to drive the registered vehicle to the event and use and have a valid driver’s license. To make an appointment for the review call 832-8683 no later than June 11th.
